Life Saving Device for Humans and Animals from Charged Electric Poles
A safety concept that detects an energized pole, sounds a nearby warning and sends a wireless alert to the power station.
The problem
A charged electric pole can endanger people and animals, particularly during wet weather.
Project story
The device concept combines detection at the pole with a siren and LCD warning. It also proposes a wireless notification to the power station and a power cut when someone approaches an energized pole.
Its recorded achievements include second place at the BMC-level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition 2019–20; a regional inter-DAV expo win in 2021; first prize at the regional CSIR-IMMT JIGYASA event in 2022; and first prize at the national-level ideathon run by Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology in 2022. The project was also among Odisha’s top 10 ATL Marathon teams in 2021–22, selected at state level for INSPIRE MANAK in 2021, among the national top 200 in the AI-readiness programme in 2022, and qualified for the national CBSE Science Exhibition in 2023.
